Nigerian Afrobeats singer, David Adeleke, higher customarily known as Davido, acknowledged that his collaboration alongside with his colleague Omah Lay, was once supposed to dispel doubts about his like for him.

Naija Facts recalls that in 2024, Omah Lay printed he had assumed that Davido “hated” him till the DMW boss spun his songs at some stage in his famed livestream with American streamer Kai Cenat in Lagos Snarl.

In a trending video broadcast, Davido outlined that he reached out to Omah Lay after seeing his tweet.

Per Davido, their interactions resulted in their collaboration on ‘With You’.

He mentioned, “How Omah Lay and I got together was once, Kai Cenat came to Nigeria and I was once utilizing him to the membership after which Omah Lay’s tune comes up, and he was once admire, ‘Who is that this?’

“I answered, ‘Oh! Here is Omah Lay, he’s hot.’ And then the next day, Omah Lay tweeted admire, ‘Wow! Davido gave me a shoutout on a livestream, I opinion he hated me.’ And I Dmed him, ‘Why would you imagine I abominate you? We’ve by no reach met.’

“We in the break, exchanged numbers and we had been going support-and-forth with music. We did about four songs and he selected ‘With You’ as the one we would liberate.”

‘With You’ is surely one of the well-known standout tracks of Davido’s fifth album, 5ive.

The tune has been nominated for the Greatest African Music Efficiency category on the 2026 Grammy Awards.
