Nollywood actor, Prince Eke, has described the existence imprisonment sentence handed to the chief of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB), Nnamdi Kanu, as a political stunt.
Twinny News reports that Justice James Omotosho of the Federal High Court, Abuja, had earlier convicted Kanu on all seven counts levelled in opposition to him by the Federal Authorities.
The assume sentenced Kanu to existence imprisonment for count 1, 2, 4,5, and 6.
He also sentenced Kanu to twenty years for count 3 without option of stunning.
The Mediate sentenced Kanu to 5 years in detention heart on count seven without option of stunning.
In a publish by Instagram on Friday, Eke mentioned there are plans to birth Nnamdi Kanu in 2027, and his freedom shall be aged to reduce payment for Igbo votes.
He wrote, “Enable us to name it what it’s far, MNK’s existence sentence used to be a political stunt. They notion to birth him in 2027 and enlighten his freedom to reduce payment for Igbo votes. This isn’t justice. it’s exploitation. Nigerians are conscious. We watch the script, and we’re no longer fooled.”
In the intervening time, the Deputy Speaker of the Home of Representatives, Benjamin Kalu, has expressed self belief in President Bola Tinubu‘s willingness to be conscious of the pleas of neatly-meaning Igbo leaders regarding the convicted IPOB chief.
Kalu made this diagnosed in a press birth issued on Thursday in Abuja by his Chief Press Secretary, Livinus Nwabughiogu.
Kalu expressed optimism that Kanu shall be freed by a political potential, stressing that the President might well well likely also no longer be averse to it.
According to him, all hope for Kalu’s freedom isn’t any longer misplaced despite the conviction.
He urged the americans of the South East, and indeed all Nigerians, to dwell aloof.
