South African singer Tyla emerged because the winner of the Ultimate African Song Efficiency at the 2026 Grammy Awards, edging out top Nigerian acts in a keenly contested category.

Tyla claimed the prize along with her tune Push 2 Delivery, ending earlier than Burna Boy’s Esteem, Davido and Omah Lay’s With You, Ayra Starr and Wizkid’s Gimme Dat, as well to Hope & Esteem by Eddy Kenzo and Mehran Matin.
The category, created to present African song more residing on the world stage, had a sturdy Nigerian showing, with Burna Boy, Davido and Ayra Starr all making the closing checklist.
Despite this presence, Nigeria ended the night with out a single award, as all nominated Nigerian artistes failed to derive a catch.

Tyla’s most standard catch makes her a two-time recipient of the Ultimate African Song Efficiency award.
She first claimed the honour in 2024 with Water, turning into the first artiste to catch the category.
Tyla, 24, is a South African singer and songwriter known for blending amapiano, pop and R&B sounds.
